-2001: Watched her sister, Haylie Duff, rehearsing (2001) and told her mother that she wanted to sing. She had already been taking singing lessons prior to her acting career. She went to a Radio Disney concert where she met the manager, Andre Recke, who first envisioned the album Metamorphosis. Hilary did not write most of the songs but she did collaborate on every song.

2. Purpose

-Hilary Duff Quote: "We called the album Metamorphosis because it's about changes that everybody experiences."

-Hilary called change "a very important and natural thing", saying that the album was a good way to introduce everyone to "the real me" because, in her words, "Everyone evolves and changes."
