The video that I watched was called 'I am a survivor of rape.' There was four women with their own rape story. One of them was raped by her boyfriend and was made to believe it was not really rape because they were dating. All women were raped by someone they knew and trusted. They were made to believe it was their fault and had "asked" for it. They also talk about how many people pointed fingers at them and never bothered to think that it was the guy who was to blame. One of them felt disgust whenever some guy would try and dance with her. Another one said she started to have a lot of sex but with who she wanted to have it with. Having a lot of sex or not wanting to have a sex is common thing to see after someone who was raped. When they try to talk about it with their friends they would all mostly dismiss it or tell them to get over it. One of the girls was well helped by talking to a therapist who made her realize it wasn't her fault and that indeed she was raped. They all want to tell their story to help people become aware of this issue that people just ignore.
With this video I can use for both my presentation and proposal. I can show parts of the clip where they talk about how everyone told them it was their fault. It will show how anyone can rape you no matter if they're a complete stranger or someone you completely trust. No matter what the situation is when someone says "no" it means no. I can also use it for my proposal because one of the girls said having a therapist to talk to really helped her deal with this experience. I can propose to provide a therapist or someone with the right education to help these victims. The victims will have someone to talk to, someone to hear them out and not judge them. Through this help they will realize that they are not alone, it wasn't their fault, and they will get through it.
