In the article, “Gov. Brown signs laws to crack down on human trafficking,” by Patrick McGreev, he is addressing the constant issue with human trafficking. It seems to be that California, New york, and Texas are the three states with the most human trafficking activity. The article is discussing the laws signed by Government Brown that are there to protect everyone. Some of the laws signed off by Government Brown include: the Mitchell bill that allows sex prevention education in California’s public schools, the authority for courts to authorize wiretaps for investigation of human trafficking, and also fines will be increased to those who partake in any human trafficking that includes minors. The article is mainly based on things that have been implemented to stop human trafficking.

I could use this as a part of my presentation to show awareness of the issue. The article list California as one of the primary places for human trafficking in the United States and I think that itself will spark interest amongst others being that this is the state they are living in. I think often people think human trafficking does not exist because it is not always on our news channel everyday but this clearly shows that human trafficking still exists. This also shows that we do have protection against these kind of things. All in all, what I think this article can do is spread awareness and make it known that this is very important and it is an ongoing issue.
