Part 1

I remember waking up from surgery; dazed, not knowing where I was for a few seconds, and then trying to move but it felt like my right leg has been chopped off from the waist down. Fortunately I did not have pain due to the shot called, “The Block”. My leg was just numb. I was crying hysterically. My parents walked in and I started crying out, “Why me? Why me? ”. Then, I fell back to sleep. An hour or two later, I woke up in my room in the hospital. I was just sitting there crying and staring at the huge brace that took up my whole leg. I had to learn how to use crutches and “walk on eggshells”. Since I had the amazing shot, my leg stayed numb for three days and I was happy to say that I never went through surgery pain.

1. The idea expressed by using words tells us that we change our tone and style because of our audience and the way we want to come across.

2. The idea expressed by using images tells us that we dress and look a certain way to make sure the people around us understand who we are and what we like and do.

Using both words and images help express the same thing because both ways help us come across a certain way.
